Nildram Introduces New Packages for SME Segment

Filed under: Consumer Planet, Telco, University Of Technology — @ 10:46 am

Two new broadband packages as extensions of Tiscali’s existing ADSL2+ 24Mbps service are being offered by Nildram. The services have been designed to suit the needs of SME customers.

The two packages being marketed as ‘SDSL (M)’ and ‘Enhanced Upstream’ will be offered on a 12-month contract basis, with SDSL (M) starting at £59 per month and Enhanced Upstream priced at £19.50 per month. These prices do not include the applicable VAT.

Enhanced Upstream is being marketed as a perfect package for SMEs of the media industry, because of its steady and reliable bandwidth. Design companies may also find this package well suited to their needs. It offers customers speeds of up to 16Mbps for downloads and 2.5Mbps for uploads, as well as other features like 100MB webspace, guaranteed downstream speed of 500Kbps and an unlimited data transfer.

The other package, SDSL (M) is meant for those seeking ’symmetrical’ connections, which give the same speeds for uploads and downloads, while do not support voice service. Customers are being offered speeds ranging from 512Kbps to 2Mbps, and the price goes up accordingly. An ‘Enhanced Care’ service support is bundled into this package, meaning that if the company fails to fix any service disruption within 10 hours, it will refund one month’s broadband fee to the customer. The package will offer an alternative to BT’s SDSL services and consequently the competition in this segment is likely to hot up.
