Car Wash In Kansas

Filed under: Cars Vintage + New — @ 10:47 pm

Is Kansas a good place for a Car Wash? There are many diverse markets in the Great State of Kansas. One gentleman suggested Lawrence, KS as a good location? Indeed I have been to Lawrence, KS; very nice people there as I recall. Sometimes as I travel I wish more people were as friendly as those in Kansas. Lawrence has decent demographics and only moderate competition. Could one find a semi-high traffic corner in Lawrence and make money with a car wash there?

If you are to put a car wash on such a property it might have to be significantly scaled down or perhaps a Coin-op or an Express Wash type operation. It could work or be made feasible. As far as costs there are many good business plans on the Internet and one, which I recommend can be found on www.carwash.com and there are several advertisers there who have car wash plans available.

The Blue Beacon Co. is intending to give you a run for your money in Lawrence so you may wish to stay heads up on that if you choose to compete in that market. The Walker Family with controlling interest in their Blue Beacon spin-off carwash division may go to lengths to win that market and use a little political clout to do so, be advised on that. I nave heard that they do not always play so fair, which is typical in hick towns, well at least that is the rumor in the truck washing business and one would assume that now that they are increasing units in the car wash market and hotels too that a similar tact would be something they might be into?? Who knows? Competition is fun.

But really no matter where you decide to build a car wash you are bound to have some good ole’ boy networks to deal with and some regional competition which clearly dominated their markets, so play to win, and plan to lead. That’s all for now. Keep the questions coming in. Thanks for listening.

Tips On Buying A Used Car

Filed under: Cars Vintage + New — @ 6:06 pm

People buy a used car for a variety of reasons. The most common basis for buying a used car is that these vehicles offer them a chance to own a vehicle without spending much. Of course, when you do purchase a used car, it is important that you do know what to look for when buying one. That way, you would be getting, possibly much more than what you paid for.

If you have already set your eyes on a used car, the most important thing that you need to do would be to have and take a look at the vehicle’s car history records. Ask the dealer or the party selling the car for these records. Do not buy a vehicle that has already been flooded for it would only prove to be useless to you. If it has already been in a serious accident, set your eyes on another vehicle instead. There are a lot of used cars being offered in the market so do not hesitate to look for another one.

You also have to check the oil of a used car. Look for the engine oil dipstick and pull it out. Wipe it off and insert it. Then, pull it out again. Now, take a close look at the oil dipstick. If the oil is completely black, there might be a very low oil level or there is excessive oil consumption. These kinds of situations would and could lead to further complications and problems in the future which is something that you would not like. Also, it is important that you check for possible oil leaks as well as the oil pressure.

Scrutinize the vehicle. And try to look for any issues in the used car that could lead to further problems. Also, look for any conditions that might only make the car worthless. If you do find any kind of evidence of badly made repairs, do not purchase that vehicle. It would only bring you great headaches once you own that vehicle.

If you purchased a used vehicle in good condition but you would still like to spruce it up and make it look like new, Auto Parts Fast has an extensive stock of dependable and long-lasting Geo parts and Saab parts.

As a former news correspondent for an auto-related website, Stacey has gathered extensive knowledge and experience in the automotive industry. This 34 year old mother of two from Memphis is a genuine car lover.

Why Isn’t God Helping Me?

Filed under: Beyond Cats — @ 11:02 am

Have you ever felt like throwing up your arms and saying “I quit! I just can’t change! I thought when God came into my life things would get better, but they haven’t.” It doesn’t matter if you’re a new Christian or have been a Christian for a number of years, these feelings can creep in and set you up for confusion and frustration.

So where did things go wrong? Many times our expectations are wrong because we lack full knowledge of how things work in the spiritual realm. We don’t understand that our spirit has been renewed, but our soul (mind, will and emotions) and our body (our five senses) have not been renewed. It’s up to us to teach our soul and body to come into alignment with how God wants us to live.

Does God abandon us until we get our act together? No! He is with us every day, every hour. He provides us guidance through His instruction book, the Bible. When we become a Christian (believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son and He paid the price for our sins by His dieing on the cross and He was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven to live there forever) God sends His Holy Spirit to live inside us. Our human spirit literally becomes born again by the Holy Spirit taking residence inside us.

The Holy Spirit has all of God’s power and love. Therefore, we have all of God’s power inside us. This power will help us change - but we need to know what areas of our life God wants to change. We learn this by reading the Bible and taking action.

Through reading the Bible and praying we begin to transform our thinking and our beliefs. One major thing we learn is that God will not force Himself upon us. We are not puppets in God’s hand. We have freedom to make choices. If we see things God wants us to do (or not do) and we ignore that instruction, our situation will not change. This is when we get frustrated because we expect God to intervene in our circumstances and force change.

Another major principle to learn is that things take time to change. This applies not only to our personal character, but also our circumstances. While we can work on developing a godly character, because other people also have their choices to make, God must wait for them to make the right choices in order to set up a change in our circumstances. And while we’re waiting, God gives us His grace and peace to handle any situation we are going through.

Part of the process of change is planting spiritual seeds (the Word of God), nurturing them, and allowing time for them to come to full maturity. If we don’t plant seeds, we won’t have anything to harvest (change in ourselves). This is where we can get frustrated because we expect God to make things happen quicker than they are.

The power to change things in ourself and our circumstances comes from having God’s Word (Scriptures in the Bible) working in our life. These “seeds” get planted and rooted in our heart through our actions. Knowledge alone will not change us. We cannot hibernate in our room and only read the Bible. We must put action to our new knowledge.

Many have been taught to pray to God for things we already have inside us via the Holy Spirit. Thus, we don’t take action because we don’t think we have what we’ve asked for. For example, often we ask God for more love - but we already have all of God’s love inside us. What we need is to ask God to reveal His love; to have His love manifest in our life.

If you look through Scripture you will find that God usually asked a person to take some type of action in order to manifest God’s miracle (of healing). When a man stretched out his hand, he was healed (Luke 6:10); another was healed when he was told to get up (he was paralyzed) and take his bedding and go home (Matthew 9:6-7); another was healed of blindness when he went and washed in the Pool of Siloam (John 9:7). The same holds true for whatever we want to see manifested in our life. If we want love to flow, then we must take action to show love and when we do, God’s love shows up!

So when things aren’t happening in your life, ask yourself whether it is because you already have inside of you what you’re asking for, or if there is some action God wants you to take to manifest the answer to your prayer.

What Sells On The Internet?

Filed under: Biz Ops — @ 10:46 pm

For anyone contemplating starting an online business the question of the day is what to sell online. You not only need to know what to sell on the internet but you need to know what sells well.

There are many specific answers when it comes to this question but probably the best answer is people buy products online that they don’t need to smell, touch or examine. They want products that they are fairly familiar with or products that don’t carry an element of surprise upon receiving them. In other words, they have a pretty good idea of what it is they are getting.

For example, Amazon.com does very well because there’s no more mystery to buying a book online than if they were in the book store purchasing the book. You can’t feel or touch a book online but the internet might even be better because it offers reviews and ratings that you may not get in a bookstore. Also, shipping is generally fast and easy. This concept also holds true for music, videos and CD’s. They all sell very well online.

Travel sells well online. Using the internet is easier than making a trip to the travel store and again, you know exactly what you are getting. The internet also makes it easy to comparison shop for the best ticket prices. Offering comparison shopping is a key factor to a successful business online and the internet has been a huge success in this area.

People often go to the internet to buy what is familiar. Electronics are hot categories for consumers but some don’t do as well online because buyers like to feel them, turn them on for clarity and test all the features of the product. Unless someone has seen a particular item in person, tested it out and knows exactly the style and model it is that they want, they’re not as likely to go shopping online and buy it over the internet.

Items that are hard to find sell well online. If you offer a unique product that can’t be found in stores people are more likely to purchase online. This is especially true for the more rural areas of the country where it’s harder to find certain products. Here people will turn to the internet to find what they need.

For all other products there is virtually very little that does not sell online nowadays. Of course some things sell better than others. For example, it makes sense that common products that you can buy at the local store don’t sell well online, but if you can identify unique products and focus those products to their target markets you may have a winner.

Anyone can experience healthy sales for any product sold online by following some of the guidelines that make sales a success. Ease of shopping. You have to make it easy for the online shopper. Your site has to be set up so that the shopping experience and checkout aren’t frustrating. If you’ve ever bought anything over the internet think about what it is you liked or didn’t like about the experience. Certainly don’t offer what you didn’t like and make what you did like even better. Clear information and quality pictures or photos. Always provide as much information about your products as possible and always post a clear picture or photo. If the photo isn’t of good quality then your viewer won’t consider you a quality site. Get them as close to touching, feeling and smelling the product as possible.

Fast or free delivery. Provide shipping information to your viewers somewhere on your site. Don’t force them to place the order to find out how much shipping is. Be upfront about the costs. If you offer free shipping, post that as an advantage on your front page. Recent reports show that free delivery is the third most important factor in attracting repeat customers. The first two were online security and price.

Always include an ‘About’ page. Your about page should have your business name, address and a phone number. What sometimes tips the scales in your favor is the ability for people to find out who you are and where your are. They need to feel they are dealing with someone honest and genuine. They want to know that they can contact you if necessary.

Provide security shopping Use secure servers for ordering and post your security measures plainly.

Offer competitive pricing. Do your research and offer pricing that will appeal to your buyers. If your price is higher than your competitors explain why and what features or quality measures justify your prices.

Spousal Emotional Abuse During Divorce–What You Can Do

Filed under: University Of Relationships — @ 10:23 pm

Is your spouse violent, abusive, harassing? In cases of harassment or violence there are legal remedies and there are practical things you can and must do for yourself. This is not about reaching agreement–these are strategies for self-defense. Mental and physical abuse must never be tolerated.

Restraining orders. The legal remedy for domestic harassment and violence is a restraining order–an order from the court, served personally on your spouse, forbidding certain conduct. Restraining orders are available as part of a divorce action.

If you, your children or anyone in your household has been physically abused or threatened with harm, you can have the abuser ordered to move out and stay away from the family residence. Child visitation can be ordered for specific times and places, away from your home and, if necessary, under supervision. It takes very clear proof of danger or harm to the child to forbid visitation altogether.

In extreme cases, most states permit emergency orders to be issued ex parte–without notice to or participation of your spouse. These orders are binding until a hearing can be held and more orders issued after both sides have had a chance to tell their side.

Here’s the good news: more than 85 percent of all restraining orders are adhered to. Being served with orders from a court seems to have a good effect on most abusers, and, more to the point, they now know that you are serious about not being a victim. Think about it this way:

  • Is your spouse the kind of person who will respect a court order?

  • Will he or she care about the police coming out or being dragged into court and lectured by a judge?

  • Does your spouse have a reputation, money or property to protect?

  • Or will your spouse, in the heat of rage, ignore the threat or reality of official sanctions?

When you go for restraining orders as part of your divorce action, you can also request temporary orders for support, custody, and visitation that will set the terms of your separation until a full-scale trial is held or a settlement reached. Temporary orders can be very useful if you need them to stabilize your case or get support coming in.

Police. If you get a restraining order, be sure to file it with your local police. This can put them under extra pressure to protect you. But even if you do not have court orders, call the police if you are the victim of domestic harassment or violence, and keep calling them. At the very least, you will be building a case and developing evidence.

Police may be an unreliable source of help in domestic situations, although this will vary from place to place. They have been accused of prejudice and sexism, but whether or not that is true, their conduct is also based on years of frustrating and dangerous experience. Police are much more likely to get hurt and less likely to do any real good in domestic disputes than in any other kind of case.

This difficult issue has received a great deal of public attention, so police agencies now tend to have standards for dealing with domestic violence. Some departments have officers specially trained in family crisis intervention.

Ask responding officers if they can refer you to available spouse abuse shelters, support groups or relevant community services agencies. Call your local police, talk to them about your problem and see what their attitude is and in what way they are willing to help. Start a record in their files.

Self-help. The best help is the kind you give yourself. The only thing you can control in life is your own attitude, actions and reactions, so start there. What part do you play in the cycle that leads to abuse? Try to avoid the things that set your spouse off. This does not mean to give up and roll over, but it does mean learning to express yourself cleanly and not to provoke. In most disturbed relationships, there is some pattern of action and reaction that builds to an eruption. Try to understand your part and stop the cycle.

Don’t be a victim. Spouse abuse is a very common problem, so you are not unique or alone. Nearly every community has professionals, agencies, and support groups that have a great deal of experience and special knowledge about domestic conflict. This is your most important source of help and support. Get in touch with them. To find a local support group, ask a minister, call the police department or a social services agency. If one group or counselor isn’t what you want, try another.

There are many practical steps you can take. Maybe you can get help from friends and family, possibly have someone move in with you for a while, or get a roommate. In general, abuse is drastically reduced when other people are around. One obvious practical solution is to move away, either for good or at least until things cool down. Or change all the locks, bar the windows and get an unlisted phone number. Or get a big dog. Or take self-defense classes. If necessary, hide–it may be better than being someone’s easy target. The main thing is this: do whatever you must to create your own peace and safety; do not depend solely on police or court orders to solve your problem.

The Current Laptop Trends

Filed under: University Of Technology — @ 2:57 pm

Step aside Desktop, it’s the time of the laptop computer, or at least that what the colossal demand alludes to. But be warned if you want the most up to date tech than you need to cultivate some patience as there are likely to be part shortages. I think the unfortunate thing for manufacturers is that it doesn’t look like anything will hinder this demand for laptop computers. This is a market that is searching to improve on a number of things all in one go so new directions and curiosity is created all the time.

Gaming notebooks are one of the areas that have seen growth. The price points on new technology usually slips quick these days because everybody is always searching for the next thing to come out. Gaming notebooks are no longer laughed at by serious game players because they are actually fairly good. Past problems with enormous, hot notebooks for gaming are disssapearing and new sleeker, slicker models are coming out. Sure nobody is refuting that there is a power gap between notebooks and desktops in relation to gaming performance however there should always be one right? It’s a niche to pay attention to as people are searching for portable, more faster systems as we speak.

I feel need for custom notebooks will always be about. With custom built notebooks you traditionally get to know what brand of components is going into the system. In my opinion being able to choose the processor, ram and hard disk is optimally suited the more power hungry users out there. Notebooks distributed in high streets are typically designed for the mass market and perhaps this isn’t you. You get past this by aquiring a notebooks built to . There is a plethora of alternatives for custom built notebooks with resellers all giving a good personal service. I really feel this is a main factor that goes in favour for buying a laptop thats made to .

It will fascinating to see what next. Small internet notebooks are the fresh idea to get mass market desire. The Eee PC just made a new niche market. If a brand produces a laptop that has a large screen but is also lightweight at an affordable market price point I feel it would be a enormous success. There are notebooks resembling this in the market already, just at premium prices. Consumer trends imply that gaming laptops will get more mobile in the next couple of years. There’s no telling what products we’ll see but more than likely there will be numerous.

Beat The Prices With Voucher Codes

Filed under: Shopping Parlor — @ 9:08 am

It’s a well known fact that whatever we buy online we all seem settled in paying the first price we see - believing that’s the best we’ll get it for. When many people shop at an online store and buy a product at a certain price that they consider to be standard, to be the best and leave it at that!

Get Money Off With Voucher Codes

You’ve probably noticed, when shopping online, a little box at the retailers checkout? Saying something like Enter Voucher Code Here? If you haven’t just take a quick look next time you buy anything online. Most small and big retailers are now using vouchers as promotional enticements to you - the consumer - to shop with them.

Now, when I address this small checkout box with almost anyone, I will usually get the same old comments or answers:

  • “But they’re for staff discounts”
  • “It’s for email promotional codes”
  • “We don’t pay much attention and have never given it much thought”

Let me tell you one thing; the codes are easier to find than you might think, and they’re not just for a select few!

Find Voucher Codes

I’d like to say this is one of the best kept secrets but the truth is the retailers don’t want it to be secret, they want you to shop with them - whatever way it takes - hence the emergence of voucher code sites.

Voucher codes sites simply list the codes for you peruse whenever on an online shopping spree for you to save money online. One site I came across is from the UK and lists what seems to be a fair few of the common online stores.

Discount Shopping has a search facility, lists all stores into an easy to view page and you can even view voucher codes by the general product types should you be unsure as to where to buy your latest products from.

You can go here to view voucher codes at Discount Shopping UK.
